Product details

Alkaline cleaner for biofilm, organics & oils on RO membranes. Restores flux, lowers ΔP, and shortens CIP time. Polyamide-compatible.

Key benefits (bullets)

  • Targets biofilm/organics/oils; disperses foulants fast

  • Safe for polyamide RO/NF membranes (when used as directed)

  • Works best at pH 10–11.5 and 30–35°C

  • Use before acid cleaning in mixed-fouling cases

  • Sizes:  1 kgs

9+ Organic Membrane Cleaner (Alkaline) is engineered to lift and disperse biofilm, organic matter, colloids, and oils that block RO/NF membranes. Used correctly, it helps recover permeate flow, reduce differential pressure, and extend the time between CIPs. Pair with 9+ Inorganic (Acid) Cleaner if mineral scale is also present.

Where to use: Industrial/municipal RO plants, packaged-water lines, and service CIPs. Industrial use only; not for domestic RO or food contact.

How to use (CIP SOP – quick)

Safety first: Wear gloves, goggles/face shield, apron; isolate power/pumps.

  1. Rinse: Flush the stage with RO permeate 5–10 min.

  2. Mix cleaning solution (use RO permeate):

    • Target strength: 0.2–0.5% w/v (i.e., 2–5 kg per 1000 L CIP tank).

    • pH: adjust to 10–11.5.

    • Temp: 30–35°C (if membrane OEM allows).

    • Rule: Fill tank 70% → add cleaner slowly while circulating → top up → check pH/temp.

    Quick quantities

    • 1000 L tank: 0.3% → 3.0 kg

    • 500 L tank: 0.3% → 1.5 kg

    • 100 L tank: 0.3% → 300 g

  3. Recirculate & soak:

    • Recirculate 30–45 min (flow = gentle turbulence; pressure <2 bar, ΔP <0.5 bar).

    • Soak 30 min (keep circulation OFF).

    • Recirculate 15–30 min (reverse direction if possible).

    • Hold pH ≥10; if it drops >0.3, top up cleaner. Use a 5–10 μm bag filter on the loop.

  4. Intermediate rinse: Rinse with permeate to outlet pH 6–8.

  5. If scale is suspected: follow with 9+ Inorganic (Acid) Cleaner (pH 2–3) then final rinse.

  6. Return to service: Start at low pressure, ramp gradually; log ΔP/flow.

Compatibility & cautions:

  • Ensure free chlorine <0.1 ppm before membranes.

  • Do not mix with oxidants/biocides in the same tank/line.

  • Follow membrane OEM limits for temperature, pH, and flow.

Storage: Cool, dry, sealed; see SDS for handling & first aid.
