Product details

Acid cleaner for carbonate/sulfate scale and metal oxides on RO membranes. Restores flux, lowers ΔP, and shortens CIP time. Polyamide-compatible.

Key benefits (bullets)

  • Removes CaCO₃ / CaSO₄ scale and iron/manganese oxides

  • Safe for polyamide RO/NF within recommended pH & temp

  • Works best at pH 2–3 and 25–30 °C

  • Use after alkaline cleaning in mixed-fouling cases

  • Sizes: 5 ltr

9+ Inorganic Membrane Cleaner (Acid) is formulated to dissolve mineral scale (calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium/strontium salts) and metal deposits (iron/manganese oxides) that increase differential pressure and reduce permeate flow in RO/NF systems. Used correctly, it helps recover flux, normalize ΔP, and extend run time between CIPs. For mixed fouling, pair with 9+ Organic Membrane Cleaner (Alkaline)—alkaline first, then acid.

Where to use: Industrial/municipal RO plants, packaged-water lines, and scheduled CIPs. Industrial use only; not for domestic RO or food contact.

How to use (CIP SOP – quick)

Safety first: PPE (gloves, goggles/face shield, apron). Isolate power/pumps.
Rule: Always add acid to water, never water to acid.

  1. Rinse – Flush the stage with RO permeate 5–10 min.

  2. Mix cleaning solution (use RO permeate):

    • Target strength: 1.0–2.0% w/w (i.e., 10–20 kg per 1000 L CIP tank)

    • pH: adjust to 2–3

    • Temp: 25–30 °C (within OEM limits)

    • Process: Fill tank ~70% → start circulation → add cleaner slowly → top up → verify pH & temperature.

    Quick quantities @ 1.5%

    • 1000 L tank: 15.0 kg

    • 500 L tank: 7.5 kg

    • 100 L tank: 1.5 kg

  3. Recirculate & soak

    • Recirculate 30–45 min (gentle turbulence; pressure <2 bar, ΔP <0.5 bar)

    • Soak 30 min (circulation OFF)

    • Recirculate 15–30 min (reverse direction if possible)

    • Keep pH in range; if it rises (neutralized by scale), re-dose.

  4. Final rinse

    • Rinse with permeate until outlet pH 6–8 and conductivity approaches permeate baseline.

  5. Return to service

    • Start low pressure, ramp gradually; log ΔP/flow.

    • For mixed foulants: Alkaline → rinse → Acid → rinse.

Compatibility & cautions

  • Ensure free chlorine <0.1 ppm before membranes.

  • Do not mix with oxidants/biocides in the same tank/line.

  • Follow membrane OEM limits for pH, temperature, and flow.

Storage: Cool, dry, sealed; keep away from sunlight and incompatible materials. See SDS for handling & first aid.
